Our Story

FreeWheelin Pizzeria is a family collaboration, founded in the fall of 2021 to serve delicious pizza anywhere and everywhere. Although FreeWheelin Pizzeria was new, we were veterans of the music festival food circuit, and had years of experience in high volume food service operations. Our team had worked in concession trailers and booths from coast to coast at dozens of major events.

We’ve learned a lot on the road, and what’s really stuck with us is that music, art, good food, and shared joy are worth traveling for. We also learned that wheels, pizza or otherwise, are what move us. So, we put a traditional wood-fired cobb oven—just like the pizzaiolas of Naples cooked their first pies in—on wheels. We tracked down the best Italian Tipo 00 flour (a necessity for the our 3 day dough fermentation) and FreeWheelin Pizzeria was born! We spent the last days of 2021 testing our recipes and systems at local events, and a few popups for friends and family.

Now, just a few years later, we have grown into a national festival food vendor. We travel the US serving our pizza at some of the country’s largest music festivals. We have experience in high-volume sales and know how to get food out quickly and keep lines moving while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer service. Our dough is house made and hand stretched for a flavorful crust that is both soft and crunchy. Our toppings are fresh and simple. And the pizzas cook in 90 seconds in our 900 degree wood-fired ovens.

We are really proud of the pizzas we create, and are excited to share them. We specialize in high volume events like music festivals. Our menu is custom to the event, the season, and the customers needs. We always have great vegan options, and we source our toppings as locally as possible.
